How would you describe your musical style?
Complex as hell.
If you took an Eminem, Jeezy , and 50 cent or artists similar to them in styles and combined them all together. You would get a Vain Majors lol. Not saying I sound like them but I am heavily influenced by them. If you listen to one of my songs or freestyles I tend to have a lot of double sometimes triple entendres. Some you can easily catch and some that takes a few listens. I often like to switch the way I attack a beat so I don’t sound exactly the same every time I’m heard. I want to keep people interested.
What is the first album you owned?
It’s crazy because my older sister listened to a lot of hip hop. So I was forced to hear it regardless lol. I’m definitely grateful for that though. My mother saw my love for the music and bought me a Kriss Kross cd lol. I ended up learning every damn word lol. She bought that one because they didn’t use and profanity. Then I started getting cd’s from my friends and got into gangster rap. I laugh because I went from Kriss Kross to Master P , and 3 six mafia lol.
How do you prepare before going up on stage?
Anytime I ever have to rap or perform for someone I just remind myself why I’m doing it to begin with. I work 12 to 16 hour shifts 5 to 6 days a week. I make just enough to take care of my wife and kids but not enough to be able to miss a check. I want to be able to give them all better chances and living situations. They drive me to want more and to achieve better because they deserve better. A father and husband is supposed to be the one who does everything he possibly can to protect and improve the lives of his family. So failing is never an option. I have become relentless because of them.
Tell us about the first song you made. Was it a success or a failure?
I have made songs off and on but never really took it seriously. But last year I made my first attempt at being serious and I made a song called “Let It Go”. I was so excited about it. I was finally going to have a song on all streaming platforms. Two days before it was supposed to go live another artist performed a freestyle to the same beat. I couldn’t afford to buy a beat exclusively so I leased one from RicoRunDat. The artist was the extremely talented Asian The Bratt or Asian Doll. She literally was killing it and I was like wtf you gotta be kidding me lol. So I immediately changed my release day to that same day. I didn’t want anyone thinking I was biting off of her. Which is hilarious because I only have a few hundred followers and she has a few million lol. I never even had enough money to get the song mixed and mastered lol. It’s still available for streaming but only has a few plays. So definitely not a success but there’s still plenty of time to see what happens. Fingers crossed.
What is the story behind your latest release Vibe.
Vibes was me displaying more versatility. My first song sounds more like a Michigan influence. Then I had “Shorty Gettin Litt“ which was over a drill beat. So on “Vibes” I wanted to speed the tempo a little. It’s basically about dealing with a woman who we just have a physical relationship. She wishes for more but I’m just keeping it casual. It’s a fun song though
If you could pick one or the other what would you choose, the money or the fame?
That easy because I’m broke as hell
Money every time. People work jobs only to make money to pay bills and attempt to improve their way of living. I wear a ski mask for a reason and it’s definitely not because I’m trying to be famous. I have 8 children a supportive loving wife and two uncooperative difficult ex wives. I’m a prime example of someone who had to learn the hard way but still takes care of their responsibilities. So I’m not trying to get money just to stunt and ball out. I have many mouths to feed and minds to develop. I’m thinking paying for college and weddings. Things of that nature. I’m not throwing any shade or hate towards anyone because if I could ball out I would. But for my particular situation I definitely can’t. Family first always.
If you could go back in time or in the future which one would you choose and why?
Definitely the past as long as I can retain the knowledge I have today. I don’t have any regrets but I would fix a lot of mistakes I had during my learn as you go phase. And I would have enjoyed myself a little more. When your young all you want to do is get older and when it finally happens you be like damn I was rushing for nothing. Just working and paying bills.
