Our age is marred with mediocrity. While the critics get busy disagreeing with each other, the so-called creators, whether they wear the gossamer of writers, painters, or inventors, are unabashedly glorifying their own work. For this mediocrity to come to an end, the world requires genuine creativity, which is impotent without passion, believes Julia Tychoniewicz.
Passion is the one thing capable of transcending hierarchies, even those that may seem set in stone. The power of this passion and its ability to sustain itself is seen nowhere more than in the lives of young people around the world. Julia Tychoniewicz, who is of Bahamian, Polish, and American descent, uses her passion to fuel her dream to be a model. She says, “I discovered my passion when I was very young. That’s the thing about my generation. We have so many choices made available to us that if we tread softly and slowly, we might just find what we’d love to pursue as our career. I love being a model because it allows me to unbundle my creativity. But it’s not easy to create exquisite images, one after another. Many burn out from exhaustion and many others from lack of ideas. Whenever I feel this, I quickly re-energize my passion and find myself trickling back to the world of creating and sharing.”
For Julia, passion is to creativity what salt is to food – an inevitable essential. It keeps the desire burning and “makes you take risks that you might otherwise be too scared to take. Passion helps me stay focused and constantly directs my creative juices to their final ascent.”
Young, dynamic, and raring to go, Julia Tychoniewicz, equipped with her willful passion, is working hard to keep all forms of mediocrity at bay.
