Today is October 30th and in the world of all things Entertainment and Media, today we shine light on our favorite publicists. Lynn Hobson, also known as Money Lynn, has had her heels on the entertainment industry’s neck for the last three decades. In fact, the Washington, DC native who now lives in New York City, has received numerous awards throughout her career serving as a prominent publicist. The industry icon was given the nickname “Money Lynn” after appearing on MTV’s “My Super Sweet 16.” Since she has pushed the culture forward through her phenomenal work in public relations.

As a matter of fact, Lynn recalls the moment her life changed forever. She reflects on reading a book that inspired her before working with some of the industry’s biggest names. “The Personal Touch: Everything You Need in Today’s Fast-Paced Business World” by Terrie Williams ignited Lynn’s interest in public relations. She soon began working for Terrie Williams as a result of her determination and passion. As a matter of fact, her achievements did not end there.

Two years later, Lynn accepted a position as the director of publicity at Epic Records. While in her position, she left her imprint on Hip-Hop and went on to change the game forever. Following her footing, Lynn established her own company, HobbieCom/Money Lynn Enterprises, after gaining expertise in her field. Additionally, she published her book, “Diary of a Hip-Hop Publicist,” which is available on Amazon, Walmart, and Barnes & Noble, to name a few.

After garnering such positive feedback on her recent publications, Lynn has decided to launch an audiobook which she is currently working on. Also, Hobson’s most recent venture, “Money Lynn Pop Up Shop & Expo,” includes over 200 vendors who attend her events. When reflecting on its significance, she states that she enjoys seeing other businesses flourish as a result of her established event property. Many celebrities, including Chrissy Monroe, Ms. Moe Money, and Mariah Lynn from “Love & Hip Hop,” have attended Lynn’s events to show their love and support. In addition to Ella Bands, Donna, and Alex from the “Black Ink Crew” also being present.

Money Lynn is not only a notable media maven. She’s an advocate for domestic violence survivors in addition to her work in public relations, entrepreneurship, and authorship. Her organization, the “Black & Blue Foundation,” is a thriving entity that sheds light on the ongoing issue.

Despite her success, her greatest inspiration is God and all that he has in store for her. On a professional level, she cites Ava Duvenay and Shonda Rhimes as role models. Because they, too, began their careers as publicists and are now successful content creators in the entertainment industry.
