Philadelphia native Brizzy On Da Beat did a Q&A with HipHopSince1987 staff member Alanna Milan and let fans into his journey a little more. Read below:
Alanna: As a producer, in what ways, if any, did COVID-19 affect your ability to get business done, or motivate you to get it done?
Brizzy: Well as we all know COVID-19 has been a real rough experience for many, so my condolences to anyone affected by COVID-19. As for me COVID-19 only made me work harder on myself! It made me realize that ya life can change at any time & when that time comes will you be ready for it? So all I did was turn up, I made 6 to 7 beats a day, sent beats out to A&R’s & artist everyday, worked on branding & marketing strategies and promoted brizzyondabeat.com religiously.
Alanna: Your discography includes tracks performed by some big names, like PNB Rock, Akbar V, ZahSosaa, and many more. Tell-all about your first placement ever and your transition into the mainstream track.
Brizzy: My first ever major placement was with Atlantic Record’s Artist Recohavoc – “Grease” Ft. Gherbo in 2018. Big shout out to Reco, Dallas Martin, & Everyone involved in that process. After that placement all I did was work more with up & coming artist, built more connections and started to collaborating with other producers. The connections I built through my first placement made me realize that I can’t slowdown or chill! I gotta keep working!
Alanna: Name some of your most favorite tracks that you’ve produced thus far, whether they are underground or mainstream.
Brizzy: My favorite song I Produced is a song that hasn’t come out yet lol. But it will be out soon! But one of my favorites I produced is by Quilly “Mj Vibes”.
Alanna: List us a few things that keep you motivated to keep your goals achieved and dreams alive?
Brizzy: A few things that keep me motivated on this crazy journey is my belief in God, my family, & my love for music! I been through so much to get to this point of my career that I have no choice but to stay strong and not give it up! Too many people counting on me. I got way to much to lose and everything to gain. I won’t stop until all my dreams are achieved.
Alanna: Provide any tip(s) to the young beatmakers studying your work for influence.
Brizzy: The few tips I have for any producers up & coming is to write your goals down & read them twice a day, Keep learning and trying new things! Travel, make connections, never burn bridges, never give up & always stay positive especially through the difficult times.–
