Meet KEN STARRRZ! The Viral Actor, Comedian and Influencer from the Spanish Harlem/Bronx who’s considered to be one of Instagram’s most recognizable and prolific comedic personalities on the Gram. Known for his hilarious content and his legendary dismissive catch phrases “HAVE A GNITE MA!”, “LITTY 2 TITTY” and “YOU HEA ME BABYBEE”, Ken STARRRZ is no stranger to going viral. KEN, who is of proud Columbian and Puerto Rican decent, has become the voice of NYC’s Latino community over the years because of his content that depicts his very relatable lifestyle while living with his Pops. The Instagram Funny Man has been making waves, or trouble, via social media with his viral social media videos and content since early 2014.
Rise to Fame
Ken Starrrz first made headlines in 2014 for his comedy skit known as “The Casket Slap”. The infamous video which is originally from “What You Shouldn’t Say/Do At A Funeral Home (8JTV)” went viral overnight and till this day it’ still considered “THE SLAP HEARD AROUND THE WORLD!” The comedy sketch features an actor who we know as KEN STARRRZ, at a funeral dressed as a gang member slapping his rival in an open coffin. While standing next to the open casket, KEN STARRRZ rants at the camera before slapping an actor posing as the dead man. KEN shouts “Word on my mother, I will slap this n**** right here. Say I won’t slap this n****.” The comedy sketch then shows Ken turn to the coffin who then slaps the “dead man” inside before screams break out from friends and family inside of the funeral home. When people mention KEN STARRRZ they still mention that video 7 years later and so I had to ask Ken about it.
Q: Tell us about that viral moment known as The Slap Heard Around the World– the legendary Casket Slap video. I hear you got into some trouble for that video because people actually believed it was real!
Ken: “People actually thought I was a rival gang member going to this dudes funeral .So at the time i was getting approached by randoms on some “why dont you smack me or what gang are you in fam”. People were either really pissed about it or loved it. As a matter of fact Instagram even deleted my page after it. but as always, I came back. Hey what can you do lol”

Going Viral
That isn’t the first time that Ken’s videos have gone viral. Another viral moment for KEN STARRRZ was his Bronx Joker Steps Skit and PlayStation 5 Skit which have reached almost half a million views on social media and have been shared by countless celebrities and media platforms alike. KEN STARRRZ content has been featured on outlets like WorldstarHipHop, TMZ, Mediatakeout, Hollywood Unlocked, Funny Hood Videos, Fuck Jerry, Yahoo New, UKTheSun, and so many more. Winner of the 2019 Official Latino Film Festival – Best Content Creator
Ken Starrrz who is a veteran Stand-up Comedian in NYC and the tristate has also graced the red carpet many times over the years with his most recent appearance being at Atlanta All Star Week. His content has been recognized and honored across the map and in 2019 he was nominated and won The Official Latino Best Content Creator category.
TV and Film
Ken Starrrz has appeared on the big screen a number of times including being a guest on Season 12 of MTV’s Wild N’ Out, BET’s 2019 Too Grown Series and also has appeared in commercials for Polo, New Balance for Jimmy Jazz/ VIM, BET and more. But
Ken’s acting career has just heated up once again. This year Ken has an upcoming role in the film Super Blocked and just completed a role in director Eddie Huang’s film “Boogie” which just released May 18th 2021 and stars the late and very talented Pop Smoke. I was so interested that Ken had the opportunity to work on such an amazing project with Pop so I asked him about it.
Q: This year you were cast as an actor in a major film starring the late Pop Smoke entitled BOOGIE (directed by Eddie Huang). What was that like getting the opportunity to work with Pop Smoke?
Ken: “Oh man my first movie. It was so dope. The director Eddie Huang actually fucks with my content so i see he’s been shootin’ the movie about an Asian basketball player here in NYC. So i literally shoot my shot in the DM and sent him a message “u need somebody to hold the lights I’m there”. He laughed and messaged me “how about u sell nutcrackers in the movie”. It was a small role but my 1st time actually being apart of feature film so that right there was cherry on the cake. Humbled and Blessed to be part of it.
HGTV Series -Living Wit My Pops
Currently, Ken has a major project of his own in the works. “Living with my Pops” is a docu- series for IG TV where Ken tell stories of what it’s like to live in the Bronx with his father aka “Pops” where some situations can escalate rather quickly. That’s due out later this year. Although Ken breaks his father’s chops on the regular, he also has a very loving and supportive relationship with the man that we all grew to love and know as “Pops”. Kens father passed away and I wanted to honor the man that helped shape one of the Biggest Instagram Comedians in the history of Social Media by asking about him.
Q: You have a comedy series in the works this year entitled “Living with My Pops” that gives us an inside look of what it’s like to live home in the Bronx with your old school father.
What does your father mean to you and how has he influenced you?
Ken: Livin Wit my Pops was a seriesI created to show how latino / black families were raised in the city and even around the world because i know everybody knows a Pops like mines lol ..I created this concept cus as a latino comedian i didn’t speak as much- spanish so i needed something to show people where I’m from ..So I showed Them…. It’s the reason i do theses skits my actual pops died a few years back and I was feelin like i was forgettin who he was so i just started writing about all the times my pops whoop my ass lmao…. my pops meant the world to me and I’m just happy ya can see that thru my videos.
Hosting and Collaborations
Ken Starrrz who is famous for coining the catch phrases “Litty 2 Titty”, “New Yerrr City” “You Hea Me Baybee?” And Have a Gnite Ma” tells me that his legendary Have a Gnite Ma is actually his subliminal way of dismissing people or a situation and has now become his signature sign off.
He is also a well known personality in and around the city where he has hosted dozens of VIP events including 2019’s Soulfrito Music Fest at the Barclay’s which was a concert featuring some of hip-hop’s biggest stars and Latin trap artists. He hosted VIP events with Uncle Murda & Maino, The Cinco De Mayo Back Outside with Funk Flex , DJ Spin King, DJ Bobby Trends, Funk Flex car show 2019, many VIP Cannibis events with one alongside rapper CJ who performed live and he even went on a 3 day tour with Noreaga. Ken Starrrz also hosted “Hot 97’s “What Would You Do For Summer Jam Tickets?”
His past collaborations include a Skit with T- Pain, music videos with Lil Skies, Uncle Murda entitled THE RAPPER, a viral skit with rapper Maino, and music videos for NJ artist Gameover,

Charity Work and Giving Back
Ken Starrrz tells me none of his success is by chance and he considers himself blessed for all of his accomplishments. He also tells me a big part of what he does is try to return those blessings to others especially the kids of NYC. He has done charity work without the camera turned on and without filming for years. His charity work includes collaborating with PCNY for turkey drives at St Joseph’s School in the Bronx, suits up as Santa every year in Harlem for the kids, Back to School Bookbag giveaways, LGBT community events and is the co founder and coordinator of The Ken Starrz Food Drive.
