GerkOne is one of the notable hip-hop talents from Canada. He is a highly talented artist with vast experience in the industry. GerkOne’s exciting creativity and lyrical prowess make him stand out. Though a partially underground artist, GerkOne is widely known for his captivating and thrilling music. His popularity is rapidly increasing around the globe, with his fans super glued to his sound. From a young age, GerkOne was always drawn to hip-hop. He loved listening to various hip-hop tracks and could not get enough of the sound. While in grade one, GerkOne was already a champion; none of his mates could match him for freestyle and rap battles.
GerkOne joined the hip-hop world in 2007 while still in high school. Though a newbie in a highly competitive industry, he was able to establish himself. His raw talent earned him a record deal with Fatality records presently known as Fatal Division. Ace, Fatality record’s CEO and founder, was particularly impressed with GerkOne. From the onset, GerkOne exhibited huge potential for future dominance in the hip-hop sector.
Featuring a local artist in a track marked one of his first achievements. It was a magical moment that amplified his passion and thirst for success in music. It left him with a valuable experience gearing him up for greatness. GerkOne could also not hide his joy in hitting the stage and performing for the first time. These were exceptional moments for him, motivating him to keep doing what he did best.
A dedicated rapper, GerkOne turned the studio into his second home. He just wanted to make music and make a name in the music industry. Working tirelessly was the only way to success, something he perfectly understood. In 2008, Fatal Division produced its first mixtape, “F8tal Division Vol 1’, and as usual, GerkOne was featured.
In 2009, GerkOne signed with GLOC Recordz after Fatal Division was taken over by J-Finn, the CEO and founder of GLOC Recordz. Things didn’t go as expected, forcing GerkOne to opt out and operate as an independent artist.
GerkOne performed well as an independent artist, and by the end of the year, he was ranked among the top ten Independent hip-hop artists in Canada. A year later, GerkOne chose to put his music career on hold due to personal reasons, disappearing for ten years.
He made his musical comeback in 2020, and he is proving to be a better version of the old GerkOne. It is only a matter of time before he breaks into mainstream.
