We haven’t heard from acclaimed singer/producer duo Majid Jordan in a while, made up of Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman. Ahead of the release of their new single “Waves of Blue”, fans were delighted to see that the duo has officially released a new single and accompanying visual. A soothing blue hue surrounds the two as their vocals play in the new video:
Both musicians elaborated on the song’s meaning by adding a bit of detail. As if staring at the ocean, ‘Waves of Blue’ brings a sense of calm. In the metaphor, you may not be in the water, but your currents are still carrying you along,” they said in a press release. “It’s about someone who wants to fall in love and who is lost in that love.”
OVO Sound caught the attention of Majid Jordan’s debut EP Afterhours after it was released in 2013. Majid Jordan’s sound was catapulted into mainstream culture after he co-wrote and produced Drake’s 2013 6x-platinum smash “Hold On We’re Going Home” that led them to being signed by OVO Sound later that year. It has been a while since they released their first EP, A Place Like This, but they recently released The Full-Length Album, which is their first full-length release.
