With several pop releases under Shelby’s belt, she has recently decided to tap into her country roots for her upcoming album- beginning with her collaboration on the single “Crossfire” featuring Jgriff. Although the instrumentals on the track- courtesy of
UK-based producer Jake Angel- have that signature country sounding guitar at the lead, they are also packed with modern hip-hop and alternative elements, particularly in percussion. Vocally and lyrically, both artists follow and compliment this foundation.
Shelby has just begun teasing the single on her social media, and after some digging and hearing a small tease of the track, this is everything we know so far.
“Crossfire” is a collaboration with her fiancé and fellow Pennsylvania-based musician, Jgriff. Their first co-release “Lilacs and Love Stories”- which was also Shelby’s first adventure in punk- quickly became a hit for the duo after its release last fall. It almost feels like watching history repeat itself- but better than ever- as Jgriff makes his
introduction to Shelby’s familiar country music scene. These two have been making huge strides together over the past year, and we can’t wait to see their progress in this new direction.
“Crossfire” is scheduled to drop on all streaming platforms July 1, 2022- if you’re as excited as we are, you can also stay tuned for updates and sneak peeks on the artists’ social media accounts.
