In May, Sasha Keable teamed up with Jorja Smith for their collaborative single “Killing Me.” So far this year, Sasha has given fans several singles, including “Don’t Get Lost” and “Exception.” The pair have now decided to join forces to create a new acoustic version of “Killing Me,” in which they exchange reflective lyrics over some soft guitar strumming:
Additionally, Keable took the time to discuss the song and revealed that the inspiration for the accompanying music video came from yet another popular film clip. Olivia created a video that resembles a traditional duet as she and fellow singer Jorja had envisioned it,” said her. A reference point we used was Beyoncé and Shakira’s “Beautiful Liar”; we wanted to keep the styling the same but different with both artists respecting their individual styles but allowing moments of confusion.”
Having released her Be Right Back EP last year, Jorja Smith returned in August to share her new song “All Of This.” Guilty Beatz, the Grammy-nominated producer responsible for the song, releases the project as part of his Hennessy Propelled Project series. Jorja’s debut album, Lost & Found, was a critical success. Her brand new album, Be Right Back, is her first since that time. She earned a nomination for a Mercury Prize, a BRIT Award for Best British Female Solo Artist, and a GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist for Lost & Found.
