“ELVIS,” the long-awaited musical dramatization of the life and career of the rock icon, is scheduled to arrive in theaters during the month of July. Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the film tells this complex story through the prism of Colonel Tom Parker, who is portrayed by Tom Hanks in his portrayal of the enigmatic and much-reviled figure. As is the case with every movie, there must be a soundtrack fit for the film, and today (June 3) Doja Cat has unveiled the next taste of that soundtrack. She recently released the music video for her latest single “Vegas” in which she covered the classic “Hound Dog” with her own Doja twist:
The highly successful Planet Her was released by Doja Cat in June and featured 14 genre-bending songs, as well as guests JID, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Young Thug, and SZA. It is also noteworthy that the project surpassed streaming records before and during its release, as well as reaching number two on the Billboard 200 following the sale of 109,000 first-week album equivalent units. Before the end of 2021, a special edition of Planet Her with five more tracks and collaborations with Gunna and Eve was released.
