Five years ago, Joey BADA$$ released his second album ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$. The LP featured 12 tracks with features from Chronixx, Kirk Knight, ScHoolboy Q, Nyck Caution, Meechy Darko, Styles P, and J. Cole. Five hundred thousand album equivalent units sold in the first week made that Brooklyn rapper’s top five project. After that, he provided his fans with The Light Pack, a three-song EP that included Pusha T’s single assist. Diddy was one of the main producers of the short film Two Distant Strangers of which he also played the lead role. He won the Academy Award for his contribution as the lead actor.
BADA$$ announced in an Instagram Live stream earlier this month that ALL-AMERIKKKAN BADA$$ would be followed by an official follow-up.
There’s no doubt the album will drop this year. But I don’t want to give an exact timeframe since there’s certain rappers who are on my tail. I’m working on it.”
He launched his campaign with the release of “THE REV3NGE” today (Jan. 14), which was produced by Sucuki, Adam Pallin, and Powers Pleasant. Many fans of last year’s concerts are already familiar with the track, which made its debut at various performances and celebrated BADA$$ official return to wax:
