The Combine, composed of lyricist Triune and vocalist E.Q., has released their long awaited project “Ambition,” under partnership with Viper Records. The 10-track album is a seamless melding of Triune’s battle-rap-ready lyricism with E.Q. ‘s vocals, inherited from his mother & GRAMMY award-winning R&B singer Deniece Williams.
“Ambition” displays the pair’s versatility and eclectic essence through the various styles of tracks. Homage is paid to late LA icon Nipsey Hussle in “All Good,” as well as to The Combine’s own friend Michael Martinez Bell, who took part in filming of “Cold Day in Hell” but passed away before its release. The collaboration of not only The Combine, but the many talents who contributed to this album takes it to a different level. Director Benny Lee took part in directing the videos for both “All Good” and “Cold Day in Hell,” perfectly creating the world The Combine hoped to present to its viewers.
The Combine paved the way for the the debut of “Ambition” by dropping visuals to the leading singles “All Good,” “Park the Whip,” “Cold Day in Hell,” and their most recent addition “More.” True to form, each visual takes the audience through a cinematic experience with filming locations varying from the concrete jungle of New York to the bustle of Downtown LA and even up to the emerald city, Seattle.
Multiple tracks from the album have already received high praise. “All Good” was featured on Fox Sports NFL Sunday Segment with Jalen Ramsey, while “Park the Whip” was featured in a CBS Sports segment on NFL Quarterback Deshaun Watson. There is no doubt this project and its individual tracks will continue to gain wide recognition. Full track list below:
