Born and raised in a small town in Central Pennsylvania, 25-year-old artist Zimm paints in darker shades that detail personal struggles with mental illness and life’s problems. It’s Hip Hop at its core, while leaning into a sonic palette that is equal parts emotional, powerful and relatable.
Zimm was introduced to various genres of music early but found his passion in writing Hip Hop by the age of twelve. With his eye on the prize and his head down, Zimm’s steadfast determination led to several videos reaching viral status in 2017. Impressively, this gained him over 103,000 loyal subscribers and over 10 million views in his first year of uploading content on YouTube alone. 20 independently released songs later and Zimm has now amassed over 50 million streams across all major music platforms.
Music is much more than just a way to pass time. For Zimm, he treats it as a form of therapy for himself, and music is his way of coping with the trials and tribulations of modern life. His track ‘Haunted’, which has amassed over 13.5 million streams on Spotify alone, sees him open up about things that he battled against in silence for years. Above all, music is a way for him to spread awareness that we never have to be alone in fighting our demons.
