Mileisy has a keen appreciation of the work of many of the hip hop, jazz, and classical music legends and manages to pay homage to the likes of Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, NWA and Dr Dre, among many others.
The title could easily describe Mileisy herself; unwilling to stick to one genre, she is that Unboxed Doll, showing her versatility and confidence with this new release. Rap and strings and piano and sax
Unboxed Doll starts with the sort of typical snappy snare and bass patternand a violin lineall harsh scrapes and layered sounds an octave apart.Twenty-five seconds in the freeform jazz violin part begins, followed closely by a lush solo string part at forty seconds, intertwined with more of the same jazzy violin sounds.
Apart from the one rap verse, there are no vocals on this piece, allowing complete focus on the strength of musicianship and variety of genres covered. Each instrument has around thirty seconds or so in the limelight, which still allows the player to showcase the instrument’s abilities.It is perfectly possible to have such a mix of styles in one piece without it feeling contrived or rushed.
Another advantage of a genre-bending piece like this is the wide appeal it is likely to have. Fans of every genre represented could enjoy listening to this surprising song. For sheer variety, it packs a big punch into its five minutes of music.

Additionally, Mileisy M has collaborated with other well-known figures in the music industry, including Grammy winners Arturo O’Farill and bassist John Benitez, as well as Yamaha’s artist-in-residence Martha Mooke, alongside many others.
