Connecting dots and crafting bangers while repping Florida to the fullest, Danny Towers and DJ Scheme are pillars of their home state’s underground scene. Today, the two close friends and collaborators share their first-ever joint album Safe House. Spanning 14 tracks, the high octane Safe House is a showcase for Danny Towers’ prodigious rapping abilities–his guttural voice cuts through instrumentals with ease, adding grit to soulful songs and making darker beats sound truly apocalyptic. An expert curator with ties to everyone in the Florida scene, DJ Scheme provides Towers with a diverse complement of instrumentals, tapping close associates like Nuri and Ronny J, as well as rising Florida hitmakers like BWolf201 and underground beatmakers like Hoodrixh, to craft an immersive, speaker-knocking sound.

Safe House is home to the viral single  Florida Water” ft. Luh Tyler & Ski Mask The Slump God, which earned praise from XXLStereogumHotNewHipHop, and more. “Florida Water” inspired a photo dump trend on TikTok, where creators drop the hottest selfies in their Photos app as the beat drops and Danny’s infectious hook, “Threw him in that water, I’m from Florida, but my wrist Cuban,” gives way to Luh Tyler’s croaking verse. Peaking at #1 on TikTok’s trending charts, the song generated over 200k video creations on TikTok, over 35 million streams on all platforms, and reached the top spot on SoundCloud’s daily chart.

Along with “Florida Water” is an eclectic array of bangers, designed to deliver the “that weed-blowin’, lean-pourin’, real gangsta music” that Danny promises in his viral hit. Kicking off with a soul sample, opener “Wide Awake” quickly shifts gears, riding sinister sliding 808s and fast-paced snares to deliver a high-octane mission statement. “Kreepin,” featuring Florida underground progenitor Denzel Curry, combines that buzzing bass sound with a sample that reflects the irreverent dance music that animated Miami in the 90s. Dany goes toe-to-toe with Robb Bank$ over a haunting sample of a 1970s anti-war anthem, while the Ronny J-produced pre-release single Paranoid” reverberates with a bombast that echoes The Runners, the famed ’00s production duo (credits include Rick Ross’s “Hustlin'”) from Danny’s hometown of Orlando. Meanwhile, the subdued “Chunky Monkey” finds Danny reflecting on his trapping past, comparing it to his independent rap grind with melodic assistance from Pompano Beach’s Loe Shimmy.

Welcoming additional guest spots from Babyface Ray (on single Trap Baby), and Florida rappers like Trapland Pat and C StunnaSafe House is available everywhere via TC Music / EMPIRE.
