“I truly believe that my project is one of the best Christian, Rap albums of 2023.”
GUS has completed his album. It includes many hits such as “PSALM 23”, “BAPTIZED”, “WWJD?”, “END OF DAYS”, “HIT ON A CHRISTIAN”, and others.
This artist has been working really hard to obtain a status in the music industry and also Christian music industry that is up to par with other artist.
“I have full rights to my music. I have industry standard visuals. I have amazing mixes. I have the album done. I even have my sophomore album done.. but I’m trying to settle some other matters, first, so that when it’s released – I can submit it for Dove 2024 and others”.
He is the man with the plan. He’s taken down everything associated with him on the internet, in an effort, to work full time, to remove certain obstacles which may be standing in his way to being an artist that many people respect, admire and look forward to.
“Saint Louis is a really rough city. There’s alot of malicious people here. I’ve gotten money stolen, many times by these scammers. I wouldn’t suggest you coming to this city to pursue music, if you had a choice. The murder rate is high, and some of the players here in the scene look really shiny etc.. but they got blood on their hands too. I know first hand because my cousin was shot and killed this year”.
Gus (August Russell) doesn’t plan on fully moving out of Saint Louis, in any foreseeable future. Instead, he’s going to continue traveling, at his leisure, to Cali/NY and other cities, and build connections, and maybe seek to rent property there too.
“It’s not like I won’t be able to move from here. I’ve been traveling for ten years to these cities. So, I’m just going to keep doing that.”
GUS has a full layout for his music career. He currently records every week at his own home studio and he’s fully capable of recording great music, into the thousands.
“I feel like I got everything I need. I have my own label which can be pitched to AWAL or another major label. I got artist. I got the company in good status. I have thousands of followers on IG. I have a management team I can work with. I have graphics, professional photos, website, social media, dozens of professional mixtapes, gigs lined up. I’m there”
Gus has been doing music in his city since 2013. He’s familiar with artist like Jordan Ward, Smino, NWM Cee Murdaa, Sexy Redd, Nelly, and others.
“I’ve either had a direct connection to these artist or grew up near them. Or spoken to them one on one. Sexxyy… one of my uber drivers is related to her or sumn and she told me about her before she blew up. And I also seen her and Smino on my Facebook timeline years ago…”
