2022 was an extremely prolific year for the world of film, there were several films that made the spectators of the Seventh Art to have faith again in film and the most awarded films will show up in the Oscar Awards.
In this occasion there will be three Mexican filmmakers that are nominated to the Oscars in different categories, although they are already considered sacred in film, and this is not the first time they are expecting to wing this award.
Guillermo del Toro is nominated to best animated film for the classic Pinocchio, a film made with stop-motion technique that attracted the attention because of the highly complex artisanal work it required, and it has a lovable script, made for young and old with an intense reflection at the end.
Alejandro González Iñárritu is another Mexican that has been nominated to the Oscar for best photography for the film Bardo which has stood out mainly in the streaming platforms and has brought up the question whether the film theatres are necessary nowadays when everything is done from home.
Alfonso Cuarón has been nominated for the Oscar for the Italian short film Le Pupille, set in Italy during WWII which tells a story of orphans in an orphanage and the crisis of faith that arises in Humanity’s most difficult moments.
Every one of them could win the Oscar, taking into consideration that they are renowned personalities and whose films are guarantee of satisfaction for the audience.
And speaking of Alfonso Cuarón, a lot is said in social media about his son Olmo Cuarón who also wants to work on films, more specifically in animation, a sector to which he has dedicated his first works and for which he will surely study a professional career in one of the best universities of the world in this area.
Olmo Cuarón is 18 years old, but has spent his teenage years dedicated to creating short films and animations that he shows in his YouTube channel which means he has the talent and the desire to work in film like his father, and even like Guillermo del Toro who is a close friend of Alfonso Cuarón and a great creative of animated films.
Olmo Cuarón will surely be at the Oscar Awards in future years because everything indicates that he inherited the best from his father and sooner or later we will see the results of it.
