Following widespread demand from fans, 24-year-old multi-hyphenate Deyaz shares his much-anticipated new single “Let You Go”.
It heralds the arrival of his anxiously awaited debut EP, The Ghost of Our Past, which is set for release on June 28th and is available to pre-order/pre-save now.
Due to its delicate delivery, bare emotion, and unfiltered honesty, the song’s sound has already generated millions of views and creates on social media. Its lamenting goodbye struck a chord with listeners, encouraging fans to share their own experiences with grief soundtracked by the song, serving as the perfect prelude to his forthcoming EP.
Says Deyaz of today’s release, “Let You Go is about experiencing the physical loss of someone while I still find ways to hold onto their existence forever, for better or for worse. In a strange way, it’s a comforting thought. Sometimes I do feel like I’m walking this world alone, as the lyrics say, but holding onto that person or even that thing that once kept me going can still do that even if not physically present.”
Previously, Deyaz set the stage for The Ghost of Our Past with “Evergreen (feat. Ilsey),” an ethereal folk ballad about experiencing love so perfect that you begin to question it, and which has already gathered over half-a-million streams and counting.
Raised in East Ham, London, and of Syrian/Jamaican heritage, Deyaz’s innate connection to music helped him find solace during his turbulent teenage years. After nearly a decade of self-taught musical education, he began releasing his own music with two EPs now under his belt with over 20 Million streams across platforms.
Deyaz has been a captivating force on the scene, effortlessly blending genres and captivating audiences with his hauntingly beautiful songwriting. He has recently experienced a period of explosive growth that has seen the influx of over 1.5 million new followers across his socials, sold-out headline shows in LA & London, and a performance of the single “Silicone Heart” on esteemed live music platform COLORS.
