1. Who is A.K.A. The Truth and what is he bringing to the wild world of music and entertainment?

A.K.A. The Truth is the artistic embodiment of his truest self. I’m a Hip-Hop/Rap and & R&B artist. I am a Nigerian-American singer-songwriter that expresses the dimensions of my story, experiences, and personality through my music. There’s power in genuinely knowing who you are and understanding who you are, so me putting out music the way I do is my super power in a way.

2. Who are your biggest musical influences or idols? Who would be a notable addition that is non-music related?

I’d say one of my biggest influences right now are Rexx Life Raj and Jon Bellion. They are just so passionate about the music and driven to give to the people. Their message is real and their process is awe inspiring when it comes to creating as well. A large influence was Micheal Jackson, he was my earliest inspiration as a kid. I learned how to moonwalk in middle school because of him. A notable addition that’s non-music related would have to be Kobe Bryant. God rest his soul, he was my biggest motivator, and inspired me to keep the Kobe mentality. Keep working at the job until the job is done, celebrating too early when you haven’t gotten to the vision isn’t going to get you closer. He taught me to lock in on what you want, basketball was his plan A and music is mine.

3. In 2024, what track has been on repeat for you?

Angel Numbers/Ten Toes by Chris Brown has been on repeat for me lately. His vocal agility and range on it is insane and the beat switch, vibe and carry-over is so smooth. I love the record.

4. Which artist or artists would you like to collaborate with if given the opportunity to?

I’d love to collaborate with Kehlani, Chris Brown, Cordae, Rexx Life Raj, Giveon, Jon Bellion, Lucky Daye, J. Cole, Westside Boogie, Usher, Blxst, Bryson Tiller, Tory Lanez & Hailey Knox.

5. Is there a message you want to send to those in the industry or your supporters?

To the Industry: I’m nice and I am who I say I am. I’m catching you all by surprise, believe me! I know marketing is more important than talent but I’ve got the talent covered so when you see me don’t say I didn’t tell you so. I’m here to make timeless records and make people feel something again. Whomever’s down to do that with me I warmly welcome you to do so, so let’s make it happen!

To my supporters: Always stay true to yourself and never let anybody stop you from living through your passions. We’re all not making it out of here alive so we might as well spend this time enjoying our lives. You’re going to see me make strides this year and every year moving forward. I need all hands on deck for this ride y’all! Buying tickets to my shows, liking, commenting and sharing my content and music all goes a long way for me. Please support me in any way you can. I won’t give up on myself, I won’t give up on y’all and I’m gonna make the Truth Gang proud, we going up! I love y’all for real with my whole heart, we’re going to make it happen!

6. If you could tell those new to the industry one thing, what would it be?

I’d say come in with a certainty of your talents and work ethic. Believe nothing that you hear and only half of what you see. Focus on building a brand and a fanbase will follow. I know it may seem like there’s no reward for your efforts at first but believe me you’re building your tax up for one if you keep it going. Don’t stop fighting for what you believe in, network, and keep making music.

7. What is next for you, your music and future vision?

I’m re-branding. I want to show the world how I’m coming. I can sing and I can do it damn well. I know how to hit you in the feelings with my lyricism and melodies, and I want to showcase my versatility as an artist. The next steps are to incorporate a ton of creative outlets in my music. Bringing dancing into my music videos for instance, touching different genres like afrobeats and amapiano, and hitting more shows while putting out more music. My audience will grow larger and the opportunities to touch more lives will be plentiful. You’ll see me on the big stages soon enough!

8. What is one fun fact that people should know about you that they would least suspect?

I have a Masters degree in Neuroscience from the University of Michigan Ann-Arbor. I bet nobody would’ve expected that!
