The Ultimate Rap League (URL) is making a groundbreaking move by live streaming its highly anticipated Volume XI closed-room event exclusively on the URLTV App (television version on Roku, Xbox, Amazon Firestick, Apple TV, Samsung Smart TV) or URLTV.TV on Saturday, March 16, at 3 p.m. EST/ 12 p.m. PST.
The event features five battles with renowned industry names: Ms. Hustle vs. Chess, Charlie Clips vs. Chef Trez, Oun P vs. Ace Amin, T-Top vs. Nu Jerzey Twork, and Tay Roc vs. Serius Jones.
This marks the first time a battle rap league will stream an entire event on its own app, showcasing URL’s independent spirit and professional leadership since its inception on SMACK DVDs.
Smack White, co-owner and founder of URL reflects on the journey from street corners to streaming devices, saying, “When I started the SMACK DVD movement in the early 2000s, I did not realize that I would be organizing battle rap as a sport and sustaining the energy around the culture for two decades.”
“This is less about bragging and more about championing ownership, self-reliance, and corporate responsibility,” he continued. “Livestreaming in real-time on our own app is an unprecedented achievement in our industry. Once again, URL is at the forefront, pioneering this new technological frontier, and bringing an art form that once thrived on street corners directly to the comfort of your home.”
Since launching its app in 2018, the league has aimed to revolutionize the culture by providing exclusive live streams and building the largest battle rap library storing almost 1,000. Beyond technological advancements, URL remains dedicated to supporting artists, having produced 139 battles in 2023 and employing approximately 285 performers over the year, making URL the largest battle rap employer in the world.
The URL App is available across multiple servers, such as Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire Stick, Samsung Smart TV, and XBOX on Androids, Apple Tablets, phones, and televisions, for a monthly fee of $7.99.
