Los Angeles rapper AZ Chike is gearing up for the release of his new album with “Look Like My Mama,” a new single featuring and produced by Tyler, The Creator. Released Aug. 28 through Warner Records, the track brings together two prominent West Coast artists for an energetic exchange built around heavy bass, punchy production and contrasting flows. The song arrives alongside a music video directed by Stacking Memories and follows Chike’s recent single “Packed Up,” produced by Hit-Boy.
The new release comes at a busy point in Chike’s career, with his profile continuing to grow through collaborations and high-profile performances. He recently appeared alongside 6LACK and Leon Thomas and was featured on Kendrick Lamar’s “GNX” track “peekaboo,” expanding his reach beyond Los Angeles. Chike has also been gaining attention as one of the newer voices helping shape the city’s current hip-hop scene, earning spots on artists-to-watch lists and building momentum following his appearance at Camp Flog Gnaw.
Chike will follow the album release with his first solo headlining tour, the Monster Energy Outbreak Presents: AZ Chike – No Rest For The Wicked Tour. The North American run begins Oct. 5 in Houston and includes stops in Dallas, Atlanta, New York, Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles and other cities before concluding Nov. 9 in Seattle. His album, “No Rest For The Wicked,” is scheduled for release Sept. 18, giving fans a full-length project to look forward to ahead of the tour.
