D. Jones
is turning two decades in the rap game into another chapter with D.O.A.L. (Definition Of A Lifer), a seven-track EP to end the summer on a good note. The North Philadelphia veteran follows the project with momentum from his 2026 Lifers Fest at Live Nation’s Foundry, a sold-out night that featured appearances from Dave East, Young Chris, Freeway and stack of other East Coast talent. The EP is led by records like “Mad Real” and “Standin On It,” records that reflect the raw, street-level approach Jones has maintained since emerging during hip-hop’s street-DVD era.

The release comes at a significant point in Jones’ career. Over the years, he has watched the music business move from DVDs to YouTube and streaming while continuing to build a following without abandoning his roots. His catalog has generated more than 10 million YouTube views alone, while his audience has grown beyond 50,000 followers and listeners across platforms. In 2025, Jones brought together Philadelphia and New York heavyweights on “Motion Picture,” featuring Jadakiss and Beanie Sigel alongside rising artist K. Gibbs. The record has surpassed 1.5 million YouTube views within a year. Prior to, his collaboration with Dave East and Jadakiss on “Wooh” further established Jones as an artist capable of collaborating and connecting across generations and scenes within East Coast hip-hop.

That spirit was on full display at Lifers Fest, where Jones shared the stage with former rival Joey Jihad in one of the night’s most talked-about moments. Now working with Jadakiss’ So Raspy Records, Jones is preparing for a full-length album expected to feature a series of surprise guests. For an artist who has spent more than 20 years documenting his experiences through music, D.O.A.L. serves as both a statement and a reminder: D. Jones is still here, still making records and still representing the culture that helped shape him.
