The intention behind DJ BAD THA PROBLEM’s collection of poetry was not considered being pretty or heartwarming. In his latest book,  B.A.D.  Born  After  Destruction:  A  Collection  of Poetry, released on May 4th, during Mental Health Awareness Month, and published by CERTIFIED  HITz  Music  Group, the  poetry book announces its intentions from the beginning. The opening warning reads:

These poems go to places people rarely talk about, especially not openly..”

It’s  a deliberate  signal;  this  is  not  a book  of  positive  affirmations.  This  collection  stands apart from much contemporary poetry because it doesn’t shy away from depicting pain. The narrative starts with the author’s descent into a downward spiral, reflecting the actual sequence of events.

DJ BAD THA PROBLEM deliberately structures it this way, reflecting his own experiences instead of rushing to a solution:

I can’t give you rebirth without showing you what died.“he says. This simple statement captures  the book’s essence: healing isn’t always glamorous, and presenting it that way would mislead the reader.

The title itself  is  an  acronym  B.A.D.  (Born  After  Destruction)  and  it  captures  the  emotional turmoil threading through the entire collection. The poems don’t promise transformation so much  as  document  it,  moving  gradually from collapse toward something more like rebirth. Not so much joy, exactly, but the quiet, hard-won recognition that survival is its own form of strength.

These aren’t poems written from comfort or retrospective clarity. They carry the weight of someone still in the thick of it, which is precisely what gives them texture and credibility. Towards the end of the book, the tone shifts. Not toward easy-resolution, but toward the simple, grounded truth of still being here.

B.A.D. Born After Destruction: A Collection Of Poetry by DJ BAD THA PROBLEM is available now through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Books A Million, Google Play Books, Walmart and all other major online retailers.
