Nearly 15,000 people gathered at Boston Common on Aug. 30 for Jaylen Brown’s 741 Frequency Fest, a community celebration combining live music, family activities and philanthropy. The event, presented by Brown, 741 and the 7uice Foundation, featured performances from artists including Ferg, Veeze, Joyner Lucas, Smino and Millyz before surprise appearances from Lil Jon and Lil Baby brought the concert to a close. The gathering served as a sendoff for Brown as he prepares to begin the next chapter of his NBA career with the Philadelphia 76ers after nearly a decade in Boston.
The afternoon extended beyond the concert stage, with organizers providing school supplies and youth services as families prepared for the new school year. Attendees also had access to food, games and community activities, while Brown’s 741 brand hosted a pop-up offering its green Rover sneaker at a special event price. The celebration highlighted the relationship Brown has developed with Boston through initiatives focused on young people, education, entrepreneurship and economic opportunity.
The event also included tributes recognizing Brown’s impact away from basketball. Boston Mayor Michelle Wu joined him for the unveiling of “Jaylen Brown Way,” while state representatives presented him with a Key to the Fifth District. Philanthropic creator Zach Dereniowski also teamed with Brown to surprise a local mother with a new vehicle, adding another charitable moment to the day. As Brown moves to Philadelphia, the festival offered a final large-scale celebration of his connection to Boston and the community he has supported throughout his career.
