Born in Topeka, Kansas, and raised in the close-knit town of Rossville, 23-year-old artist and entrepreneur Manager$PKhas built his name on authenticity, perseverance, and a genuine desire to impact people’s lives.
The story behind his name goes all the way back to elementary school. Growing up in Rossville a small town where everyone knew each other friendly trash talk was a daily part of life. One day in second grade, after jokingly calling a classmate, Tagen Kippes, “Mud Kipper,” the response came back just as quick: “Shut up, Sour Patch Kid,” a nickname inspired by Manager$PK’s last name, Sowers. Years later, when he began making music at just 14 years old, that nickname was the first artist name that came to mind. He embraced it, eventually shortening it to the recognizable brand fans know today as $PK.
Like many artists, Manager$PK’s journey started with inspiration. Early on, he found himself captivated by watching Day2Day videos from hip-hop icon Wiz Khalifa alongside his friend RL Cooney and his brother Tyree Sowers. They dreamed about living the same lifestyle and achieving similar success. As he matured, however, his perspective on music evolved. What began as admiration for the fame and lifestyle transformed into a deeper appreciation for music’s ability to help people navigate life’s toughest moments.
Today, that mission fuels everything he does.
Whether he’s creating music that addresses addiction, depression, and personal struggles, or organizing free community events and barbecues for local residents, Manager$PK remains committed to giving back and creating meaningful connections. His work extends beyond entertainment it’s about providing support, hope, and a sense of belonging to those who need it most.
His growing influence has already led to notable accomplishments. One of his artists has opened for SleazyWorld Go, and Manager$PK himself, alongside artist YXK, is preparing to embark on his first tour with Javonte IzMe from July 24 through July 28. Yet despite these milestones, he considers his greatest achievement to be something much closer to home: earning the respect and support of his hometown and the surrounding communities that have stood behind him throughout his journey.
At the core of Manager$PK’s message is a simple but powerful belief:
“Chase your dreams no matter who says they can or can’t be done. If there’s something you truly love to do, do it. You are the only person who can stop yourself from accomplishing what you set out to achieve.”
For those battling addiction, depression, or other personal struggles, his message carries even greater weight.
“It’s okay to not be okay. What matters is what you do about it. Healing takes time, effort, and support. If you’re struggling and don’t know where to turn, reach out. Nobody has to face those battles alone.”
Through music, mentorship, and community involvement, Manager$PK continues to prove that success isn’t just measured by streams, stages, or accolades it’s measured by the lives you impact along the way.
