As independent artists search for breakthrough opportunities in a saturated music scene, many are discovering that live performances remain one of the most effective ways to build a lasting audience. For the rising artist SWAY, that philosophy has become central to his approach as he continues to perform on showcase tours while building momentum for his music.

Over the last year, SWAY has had plenty of opportunities to perform in different cities, thereby introducing his music to new people. While every crowd brings a different energy, the connection he has established with fans in person has remained constant. “The feeling is definitely unreal. And the love that I receive from those crowds is unbelievable too,” SWAY admits regarding his recent performances. Collaborating with other promising artists, he has a great chance to present his music to people who have never heard of him before.

The face-to-face interaction becomes increasingly important as SWAY tries to spread his music further. Although social networks provide a way to connect with fans like never before, SWAY believes that genuine relationships are still built through real-world experiences.  “Live performances are probably one of the most important things to me because I can interact with my followers personally and talk to them,” SWAY admits. “I believe as an artist you should have that kind of connection with your fans.”

Those experiences have played a major role in shaping his approach to music, including his most recent track, “My Final F*** You (Kevin Gates Yes Lawd Remix).” Released in September 2025, the song found SWAY drawing inspiration from a beat created by one of his favorite artists. The creative mentioned the record came together naturally once he heard the instrumental behind “Yes Lawd.”

The result was a track fueled by personal frustration, determination, and resilience. Through the song, SWAY addresses challenges involving relationships, friendships, and outside negativity while emphasizing his commitment to continue moving forward. “I understand that things aren’t just given to you, so you have to go get them,” he says. “That’s why I’m so hungry and aggressive when I write because I want people to feel what I’m feeling, especially the hardships of an upcoming artist.”

Touring has also provided valuable feedback that extends beyond the stage. By testing songs in front of live audiences, SWAY gains immediate insight into what resonates and what can be improved. “When I perform in front of people, I’m able to see the reactions in real time,” he explains. “I’m also always open to feedback. That’s the most important thing in my opinion.”

A willingness to listen has fueled not only his performances but also become part of his long-term growth strategy. Instead of focusing solely on online engagement, SWAY prioritizes meaningful conversations with listeners and believes applying their feedback helps create stronger relationships over time and better music overall.

As the year continues, SWAY remains focused on expanding both his audience and artistic identity. While “My Final F*** You (Kevin Gates Yes Lawd Remix)” captures a specific moment in his journey, he views it as one chapter within a much larger vision. He promises significant changes in his music going forward, describing a future with completely new sounds and melodies. For SWAY, the goal is to continue evolving while bringing audiences along for the ride, one performance at a time.
