For nearly two decades, Cuddy J Rome has been building his career from Ogden, Utah, developing a catalog and reputation that extends far beyond his home state. A hip-hop/R&B artist, songwriter, and audio engineer, Cuddy J Rome represents the second generation of music artists to emerge from his hometown of Ogden, Utah. He began his musical journey in 2006 after being discovered by Jenny P. of 801 Intentionz. What started in Utah would eventually develop into a career deeply connected to the independent West Coast music scene.
From 2013 to 2018, Cuddy J Rome was a member of 801 Intentionz/Tre Duce, appearing on two official group projects before signing with Platinum Music Records in 2018. That same period helped establish the foundation for his solo career, leading to projects including After Hours, Retrograde, Dope Wave 2, and eventually After Hours 2. His 2018 release After Hours continued gaining traction and approached one million streams, helping establish Cuddy J Rome as an independent artist capable of building an audience beyond Utah.
His catalog has continued to grow through collaborations with artists from across the West Coast, including Jay Tee of N2Deep, Matt Blaque, Derek King, J Diggs, Laroo aka Hitta Slim, Remedy, Marty Obey, Russ Coson, RNB Base, FlyGuyVeezy, Phat Blacc, and others. Beyond his own releases, Cuddy J Rome has also contributed his audio engineering work to projects including Spanky Loco’s Art Money EP, Young F.B.’s “209 Baby,” and MacAfterDeath’s Game in My Veins EP, further establishing his role as both an artist and a creator behind the scenes.
The numbers reflect years of consistent work. His song “Can We” surpassed two million streams, while his catalog has accumulated more than 4.7 million combined streams, demonstrating the lasting reach of music built independently over time.
Now, the artist is entering a new chapter. After years of building his catalog and identity as Jayy Reezy, he has officially evolved into Cuddy J Rome. The name change represents more than a rebrand; it marks the next stage of an established career while carrying forward the music, experiences, relationships, and independent foundation built under his previous identity.
With deep roots in Ogden, connections throughout the Bay Area and Northern California, and a catalog shaped by nearly two decades of independent work, Cuddy J Rome represents the continuing evolution of Utah’s hip-hop/R&B scene and its connection to the broader West Coast culture. His newest chapter begins with Call of Currency – Stack Ops, released October 15, 2026, as Cuddy J Rome continues building on the foundation established under Jayy Reezy.
Jayy Reezy built the catalog. Cuddy J Rome carries that legacy forward.
