Atlanta’s Nigerian community is preparing for a full evening of business, culture and Afrobeats as NaijaPalooza celebrates Nigerian Independence Day on Friday, October 2, 2026, at Empire Lounge & Bar in Snellville, Georgia.
The celebration will feature a special appearance by Nigerian-American artist Nestreya, along with Afrobeats, dancing, drinks and the unmistakable energy of the Nigerian diaspora.
NaijaPalooza’s Afrobeats Legacy
Led by Dr. Celestine O. Chukumba, NaijaPalooza was created to promote Nigerian music, artists and culture throughout the United States. The platform began making its mark with a Wande Coal concert in 2018, followed by a Reekado Banks concert in 2019. Over the years, NaijaPalooza has featured established and emerging talent, including Wande Coal, Reekado Banks, Mr. Raw and Lisa Yaro.
Long before Afrobeats became one of the world’s most dominant musical movements, NaijaPalooza was helping introduce the sound to audiences across New York, New Jersey, Atlanta and Miami. Its events have grown beyond concerts into cultural celebrations that connect Nigerians throughout the diaspora.
The 2026 Atlanta celebration continues that mission by bringing Nigerian culture, music and community together in honor of the country’s 66th year of independence.
The Celebration Begins With Business and Community
A few hours before the late-night celebration, the newly formed Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce of Georgia will hold its inaugural Independence Day Meetup from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Empire Lounge & Bar.
The complimentary event will bring together Nigerian-American entrepreneurs, professionals and community leaders for networking, a panel discussion, hors d’oeuvres, happy-hour specials and information about joining the Chamber at a discounted introductory rate.
The Chamber is being established to support Nigerian-American businesses, strengthen professional relationships and create new opportunities for commerce between Georgia, the Nigerian diaspora and Nigeria.
Following the meetup, Empire Lounge & Bar will transition into a full Nigerian Independence Day party featuring nonstop Afrobeats, dancing and a special appearance by Nestreya.
