MTV News correspondent Nadeska Alexis recently caught up with Kendrick Lamar to get his thoughts on the recent injustices involving law enforcement in the black community.

To get the ball rolling, Alexis get’s the TDE frontman to breakdown the significant’s self-love anthem “i” and how it directly correlates with the current social climate following the deaths of Mike Brown and Eric Garner.

As the interview presumes Lamar confidently embraces his responsibility as a role model and detailed how even as a child his father made it very clear that because he was black he needed to be especially mindful of the way he carried his self and was perceived.
