During his show last night, Funkmaster Flex expressed his frustrations with Jay Z and a few of his business ventures. It seems that Flex’s issue with Life + Times began a few years back when he was getting ready to launch his DJ Funk Flex app. According to the Hot 97 personality, the website approached him to conduct an interview in regards to the app but failed to include key information and insteaded used his knowledge to help launch Jay Z’s new app via Samsung. “They do this interview after I drop my app, asking me a lot of key questions about apps. Building apps, how, why, how’d you launch it, but all of that didn’t get put in the story though,” Flex stated, “A lot of that information got put into that new Jay Z app. But I was good with that. I ate that.”
Bringing this back to yesterday, Flex announced that the website sent an email to his assistant requesting an interview about the Dipset reunion. Naturally this raised a few eyebrows since Jay Z and Dipset obviously do not have the best relationship, but I’m sure Hov is a little busy to be handling editorial duties on the site Flex calls “trash.” At this time Flex confirms the rumors that Dipset music is in fact banned from being played at the 40/40 Clubs and recalls an instance in which he was approached by security to stop playing one of the group’s records adding, “But when I used to go to 40/40, I was told not to play any Dipset records. I’m so confused. And I’m gonna tell you something about that 40/40 in Atlantic City. There was a security guard that came up to me and told me to change that record.”
Before wrapping up the rant he once again stated, “Your website’s trash. Y’all can’t move with me in this digital space. Maybe if y’all copied everything I was doing with that app, your app wouldn’t have crashed the day your album dropped.” He continues saying, “Don’t play with me. I didn’t take no sides in in that situation. Play me like I’m stupid and you’re gonna see a different kind of dude firing off on you. I let you live in this town, don’t think I can’t ruin you.”
