In the mist of a horrible Hurricane Sandy, it appears fans of the new look Brooklyn Nets will have to wait to see them play the New York Knicks in the Brooklyn Nets season home opener.
The biggest reason the game has been postponed is because of the devastation Sandy bought to New York City’s of mass transit system. Much of New York City was flooded and public transportation is suspended in many areas. The newly opened Barclay arena sits directly above theLong Island Rail Road transportation hub.
The Barclay Center will reopen Saturday as Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors come to town. Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks’will now wait as well as their first game will be on Friday at Madison Square Garden when they host Lebron James and the Miami Heat.
