Tonight’s NFL Thursday night matchup features Drew Brees and the (5-6) New Orleans Saints marching in to Atlanta‘s Georgia Dome to face Matt Ryan and the (10-1) Atlanta Falcons.
The first meeting between these two NFC south foes was a dandy as the Saints came up with a huge goal line stand to beat the then unbeaten Falcons 31-27 handing the dirty birds their only loss of the season. The Saints were 4-1 in their last five games before losing to the 49ers last week 31-21. The Falcons were in a heavyweight fight in Tampa Bay last week against the Bucs and nearly lost but hung on to a fourth quarter lead to beat the bucs 24-23.
Tonight’s matchup is sure to be a high scoring battle as the Saints hope to keep their slim postseason hopes alive and the Falcons look to keep a edge on Chicago (Bears) and San Francisco (49ers) for home field advantage in the 2012-13 posteseason. Despite the Falcons record tonight I think Brees and the Saints bounce back from the loss against the 49ers and find a way to upset the Falcons in the dome.
I expect a huge game from the Falcons Jacquizz Rodgers and Julio Jones on the offensive side of the ball and a big game from the Saints Chris Ivory and Jimmy Graham as well.
Saints 38 Falcons 34
