Game 2 of the 2017 Western Conference Finals is in the books. Headed to San Antonio for Game 3 which will take place on Saturday night, the Golden State Warriors took a (2-0) lead on the San Antonio Spurs with a (136-100) Game 2 victory.
The Spurs came into the game shorthanded due to the injury to Spurs star Kawhi Leonard and it showed early. The Spurs struggled to find scoring and the Warriors scored easily with the Spurs best defender not in the game. For the Spurs, Jonathon Simmons was the leading scorer on the night with 22 points on (8-17) shooting from the field. Spurs big man LaMarcus Aldridge finished with just 8 points on (4-11) shooting. Following the game, Spurs head coach Gregg Popavich spoke on the Spurs not believing they could get the job done and needing to be smacked around.
