Back in November, Ella Mai announced that she’d be doing a free show in NYC, in partnership with Pandora and Verizon Fios. Well, that concert took place the other night at Le Poisson Rouge in Manhattan and we were there to witness the exclusive performance! Upon arriving at the venue, about an hour before doors were set to open, the line wrapped around and down the block! Once inside, concert goers waited anxiously for the buzzing singer to hit the stage.
Ella Mai’s presence was undoubtedly felt as soon as she graced the stage and addressed the crowd before opening the show up with a series of older singles – such as 10,000 Hours, Naked, She Don’t and Trip. The highlight of the night, of course, was when Mai performed her popular, hit single, “Boo’d Up.” Fans were loving her performance of the single that Ella performed it a few times. The second time, she requested the fellas to sing the lyrics for her – along with her band. It was entertaining to see the fellas tap into a softer side as they belted out the lyrics with full emotion! But you know the ladies had to show out! After the guys had their turn, Ella then asked the ladies to sing the lyrics and perfectly in unison, the ladies showed out.
As a part of Pandora’s #PandoraLive event series, the live Ella Mai experience was certainly a memorable one. The streaming giant has been going strong since its launch in 2008, and their ongoing collaborations, with brands such as Verizon Fios, will continue to set the company apart – especially with their exclusive event series.
