On Friday May 10th, the Atlanta Hawks announced that GRAMMY® Award-winning recording artist Tauheed “2 Chainz” Epps has agreed to join the ownership team of the Hawks’ new NBA G League affiliate, the College Park Skyhawks. Born and raised in College Park, 2 Chainz will join an ownership group led by Principal Owner Tony Ressler and Vice Chair of the Board and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Grant Hill and adds to the group one of the most recognizable and respected leaders in the south Atlanta community.
2 Chainz along with the Atlanta Hawks and College Park Skyhawks took to North Clayton High to make the huge announcement. 2 Chainz hit half court and spoke with members of College Park’s city council, North Clayton High School honors students and others to breakdown why this move was a no brainer, his plans for the future with the Skyhawks and more.
Following 2 Chainz announcement, I caught up with 2 Chainz to discuss why this new move was important to him, his all-time Atlanta Hawks starting 5, if Zion Williamson could bring to the Atlanta Hawks and more.
