“Detroit 2” is coming.
Today, Big Sean revealed the release date as well as the long-awaited album’s cover across his social media profiles. Fans can expect the album to drop during on Friday, September 4th – kicking off Labor Day weekend!
“Detroit 2” is Big Sean’s fifth album, and marks the follow-up to his 2012 mixtape release, “Detroit.” While no tracklist was revealed, expect a line-up big names as contributors. In the past, Sean has worked with Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, French Montana, Jhene Aiko (of course), and more. We suspect Young Thug, Ty Dolla $ign, Post Malone, A$AP Rocky and once again, Jhene Aiko, to appear on the project, though, – after a video trailer dropped back in March which featured appearances by these artists.
“I’m praying that this album touches people and we blessed enough to see success,” he told DJ Khaled in May. “My thing is, I want people to feel the vibration of it and rise to their success though, more so than anything… The most satisfying thing is to see the people who you helped along the way change the world with you.”
