Aysir Clark also known as Lil Bape is a Philadelphia artist whose name was inspired by a clothing brand that he liked by the name of Bathing Ape. He wore it so much, to the point that his friends began to call him Bape which is a combination of the name. You could describe the 17-year-old’s style as Diverse Hip-Hop because he can go from one genre to another. Aside from making music, Lil Bape also enjoys singing, drawing and poetry.
When asked why is music a passion of his, Lil Bape responded “As I started losing my homies and friends, doing music was an outlet and way to express myself my feelings and what was going on in my life. Internally I thought I always had the knack or style for it.”
Lil Bape’s biggest motivation is his dad. Seeing him start from the bottom, never giving up and always going after what he wanted made him want to do the same. Their bond motivates him to strive to succeed so that if, and when Lil Bape ever has kids it would be the same. His biggest accomplishment was doing a song with Yxng Ka that did over 300k on Audiomack platforms. His newest EP “Zipped Up In My Tears” is out now and available on all streaming services!
