With the rap scene on absolute fire this year, mostly thanks to Ye’s Donda (it’s about time it dropped!) and Drake’s highly-anticipated Certified Lover Boy, amongst promising upcoming albums from Kodak Black, Jack Harlow, and many more. While we love to show appreciation for the people that entertain us, why not share some of the love with the people who entertain them? Rappers are people too! They’re on YouTube, Instagram, Twitch, and TikTok all the same as we are. They see the trends, the viral challenges, and the hottest content creators in the game, especially AbsorberYT.
Hamzah Saadah, better known as AbsorberYT, is killing the digital entertainment scene. His YouTube channel, started back when he was only 12, frequently rides YouTube’s trending page for weeks on end. At the young age of 18, AbsorberYT is far from his prime, but is getting exponentially closer. His hilarious content is great for the whole family, and apparently good enough for hip-hop’s biggest names to be joining in on the fun. With videos ranging from comedic skits, to pranks on other celebrities, to insane gaming clips, there really is something for everyone to get their daily fill of laughter. Each video consistently straddles the multi-million mark for views (holy ad revenue!), and combined with hundreds of thousands of comments, every video feels like its own social media. So many people flock to the comments to express their gratitude for his daily commitment to positivity, and AbsorberYT frequently uses his commenter’s suggestions as the basis for his channel’s next videos.
Aside from YouTube, AbsorberYT is absolutely murdering the TikTok algorithm, busting out millions of likes, thousands of shares and viewer retention that’s off the charts (again, holy ad revenue!). TikTok is the best place for a glimpse into what AbsorberYT is all about, and to see the highlights of his YouTube channel. Think game-winning sniper shots, the shock on a celebrity’s face when they realize they’ve been tricked, or the moment a random teammate realizes just who they’ve been queued into a game with. With over 5 million followers and growing every day, TikTok might just overpower his YouTube channel soon.
Over on Twitch, Hamzah pulls back the mask and allows his fans a more personal experience with himself. His live streams are usually laid-back sessions of interaction with the live chat, all while listening to new music from the best artists out there. Twitch is also where Hamzah shares his other hobbies, like music. A new beat, remixed sample, or parody lyrics can be seen in the works. As well, he explores his childhood love of magic tricks– a disappearing coin, a card trick, and other mind-bending gags. Again, AbsorberYT really does offer something for everyone.
