Here’s our interview with DJ Guilly D…
What is your name?
I am Guillermo Urena but I am known as DJ Guilly D.
Where are you from? Age?
I’m 28 and I’m from Los Angeles, California.
What do you do?
I’m a music producer but have done other things as well like A&R and DJ.
Tell us a little about yourself –
I make music of all kinds of genres for my fans to enjoy.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I see myself hopefully having multiple top billboard charting songs as well as hopefully a Grammy award.
Who are some of your mentors?
Bruce Vanderveer (automatic) I’ve learned a lot from him about the music business. As well as Harvey Estrada and Kevin Toney and Francis Buckley they are all geniuses and great mentors in my career and life.
What are you currently working on?
I’m currently working on a hip-hop album that’s a tribute to California called “Dear Cali” which has a lot of big features and surprises.
During COVID, we all faced struggles, what was one of your main struggles?
Not being able to get in the studio much with artists we had to work virtually a lot.
