After making a #12 debut on the Billboard 200 with his latest project, FLAWLESS LIKE ME, with over 25k sales-equivalent units in its first week, LUCKI has no plans on slowing his mainstream takeover. Leading his flock of rabid fans into another semi-charmed psychedelic journey, LUCKI shares his new video for the project highlight, “LIFE MOCKS ART.” Backed by Yung Icey’s hauntingly ethereal production, the track takes listeners into a circus tour of clowns and hypocrites that fake the funk, guided by LUCKI’s true-to-life rhymes: “Make three hundred thousand off jackets/I send her back home with an accent/Make a Trackhawk almost backflip/I cut a ho off like magic.”
Directed by Lestyn Park, the video for “LIFE MOCKS ART” favors the authentic, as the camera follows LUCKI through a maze of studio sessions and kickbacks with the cinematic style of an MTV Cribs episode that evolves into a Paranormal Activity film. With a brief cameo from Babyface Ray, the video fits seamlessly into the drug-fueled journey of FLAWLESS BY ME, as LUCKI forges his path haunted by ghosts of tracks past.
The first-ever LUCKI project to welcome featured artists–Future and Babyface Ray make guest appearance–FLAWLESS LIKE ME continues a busy year for the 26-year-old underground hero, marked by sold out shows, festival performances, and 350 million on-demand streams in 2022 alone. The new album arrives in the wake of a string of successful singles, most notably “SUPER URUS,” which generated over 16 million Spotify streams and 3.7 million YouTube views to date, and triumphant fan favorite “Y NOT?” (3.4 million YouTube views), while he connected with Internet Money for the woozy banger “2K In The Soda.” Both “SUPER URUS” and “Y NOT?” appear on FLAWLESS LIKE ME as bonus tracks.
With his new album making a splash and a legion of devoted fans awaiting his every move, it’s only a matter of time before LUCKI takes over the game.
