We were able to sit down with NoRestrictions Records owner & ceo, Lady Redd and talk inspiration, goals, and life. When asked how she got started in the game, Lady Redd said, “I decided to start my own Record Label to help give artists and other creators the motivation, attention and services that they deserve.” The plus side was expressing her love for the music industry and people. “For anyone starting their own business, I would tell them that it’s not an overnight process, you’re going to have your ups and downs but the most important thing is to keep your eyes on the prize and hustle for what you want.”
Fear and doubt are always common in the love for the arts but Lady Redd says the way to dealing with fear and doubt is by conquering it head on. Doubt and fear puts a hold on your goals. With social platforms everywhere, the person creating and perfecting their craft is the one constantly being watched because people want to see others fail. Everyday she wakes up with music and business on the mind and throughout the day she’s always doing something to improve her business and other peoples career.
When asked about long term goals, she said in 5 years, she sees NoRestriction Records thriving with talented artists topping Billboard charts, winning awards, collaborating with many different moguls and making a major changes in the music industry not with just the different sounds our artists will project but also the presentation of real HipHop! That sounds like a great journey to precall.
NoRestriction Records was founded in an era where every resource needed to run your own music is available everywhere. NRR uses those resources to engage with different creators to guide not just recording artists but anyone in the music industry looking for the proper marketing, distribution, promotion and more. “We are extremely versatile.”
So what is the hardest part of being an entrepreneur? Lady Redd responded with, “the hardest part of being an entrepreneur is the amount of responsibility you solely take on. So many responsibilities go into running your own business and doing it alone is definitely possible but not recommended!” Her next step is catching attention from a bigger audience and marketing herself.
