UN, you’re out! There is a new international coalition in town, and it’s all about music rather than maintaining the peace. Presenting “International Freshmen,” the creation of 19-year-old Munich-based producer Kid Indy, a worldwide collaboration of rappers from the UK, Italy, Germany, and Spain. This album is a mashup of tracks and cultures.
Who said that dealing with other countries had to be stuffy and formal? With his original strategy for using music to unite people from all over the world, Kid Indy has it down pat. Kid Indy has put together a group of brilliant individuals to represent their nations, including Double O and Bobby Chikoun from the UK, Ceejay and Mated from Italy, Svint and Yng Juice from Germany, and a Spanish rapper called Asaplight.
Given that each of these musicians hails from a different nation, speaks a different language, and has a distinct musical preference, it is amazing that Kid Indy was able to get them all together. But it only goes to show that music has no bounds and that everything is possible with the aid of technology and a passion for music.
This CD is a real reflection of the many sounds and styles of hip hop from across the world since each performer brings their own distinctive flair to the table. “International Freshmen” is a voyage across nations and sounds, with music from Double O and Bobby Chikoun’s UK grime, Ceejay and Mated’s Italian trap, and Yng Juice and svint are bringing German trap.
Kid Indy has demonstrated his skill as a producer by creating rhythms that meld with the various musical genres of the musicians on the album. It’s difficult to believe that one person could have produced all of these tunes, but Kid Indy has shown that he is a force to be reckoned with.
This young producer has a promising future ahead of him, and we can’t wait to hear what he comes up with next. Perhaps Kid Indy will bring together musicians from nations with less than ideal diplomatic ties. Think of the opportunities!
