After breaking through on his own terms with over 1 billion streams and 1 billion YouTube views to date, Gold-certified Nigerian-Canadian rapper, singer, and songwriter Dax unveils his powerful, provocative, and poetic new single “God’s Eyes” today via RECORDS / Columbia Records. Over cinematic production, Dax delivers incisive bars punctuated by revelatory rhetoric as he proclaims, “I’ve never seen God’s eyes, but I’ve seen the devil’s.”
The track is accompanied by an official video that translates this spirit to the screen. Opening with 2 Timothy 3:1 – 5, Dax literally walks viewers through the six signs of the apocalypse detailed in the Bible, painting a stark picture of the end times. The official video is directed by Dax’s longtime creative collaborator, Logan Meis.
n speaking about today’s release, Dax says: “We know the problems. We see them, but don’t want to change. We’re desensitized to every issue because they let us profit off people’s pain. ‘God’s Eyes’ is a depiction of the current landscape of our world.”
“God’s Eyes” lands in the wake of “To Be A Man.” Between the original and Mega Remix [with ten of his favorite open verse submissions], the song has racked up over 15 million streams worldwide to date and counting. “To Be A Man” will be featured on Dax’s long awaited EP due later this summer, which will also include his breakout hit “Dear Alcohol” and several new tracks.
2022 proved to be a pivotal year for Dax following the releases of “Depression” and “Dear Alcohol,” which is nearing RIAA Platinum-certification with over 275M worldwide streams to date. Dax has continued that momentum in 2023 with a JUNO Award nomination for ‘Breakout Artist of the Year,’ a recent television performance on CBC’s Canada Day national broadcast, and Canadian headline tour dates slated for the fall.
