Q: Daniel, congratulations on the release of your new album, “Weird Nasty and Bizarre Things”! Can you tell us what inspired the title and the overall concept behind this project? Daniel Mouyal: Thank you, I appreciate it! The title is desire to delve into the unconventional aspects of life. I wanted to challenge societal norms and explore topics that are often considered taboo or uncomfortable. This album is about embracing the weirdness and complexities of human existence without filters or pretenses. Practicing free speech.
Q: You got a long list of features on this project, Nate dogg, DMX, Dave East, Hussein Fatal, Sean Price, Styles P, Merkules, Bubba Sparxxx, Royce Da 5’9″, Bizarre, Obie Trice, and Big Pun. Can you explain the decision behind choosing these collaborations for this album?
Daniel Mouyal: For me, authenticity is key. I didnt choose the features, G-d did. This is an old school album with lots of jokes and skits. I had to work with artists that properly give the justice needed to restore balance to the force.
I was pushing myself to say things freely and drawing from
real-life experiences and the guys on the tracks we’re right there for the assists on the court and up above.
Q: What do you hope listeners take away from “Weird Nasty and Bizarre Things” after experiencing it?
Daniel Mouyal: I hope this album sparks conversations and encourages listeners to embrace their own weirdness and uniqueness. The skits especially are for celebrating individuality and finding beauty in the things that make us different. Ultimately, I want people to feel a sense of connection and empowerment through the music.
Q: How has your journey as an artist influenced the evolution of this album?
Daniel Mouyal: My journey has been about growth and
self-discovery. With each project, I strive to evolve as an artist and push myself creatively. “Weird Nasty and Bizarre Things” represents a culmination of everything I’ve learned and experienced so far, both personally and musically.
Q: Where can fans listen to “Weird Nasty and Bizarre Things”, and what’s next for Daniel Mouyal?
Daniel Mouyal: The album is available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. As for what’s next, I’m excited to connect with fans through live performances and continue releasing music that the fans love.
