Bringing Local Stories to the World One Stream at a Time

Grand Rapids is known for its creativity and local talent but until now it hasn’t had its own dedicated streaming TV platform. That changes with the launch of Decoded TV, the first local TV streaming station built just for Grand Rapids.

Owners Anthony Williams and Darryl Jackson Jr and General Manager Vaughn Davis Jr created Decoded TV to give the city a modern platform for local storytelling that meets viewers where they are today on phones, tablets, smart TVs, and computers.

While Grand Rapids has respected local access channels like WKTV and GRTV serving important roles, Decoded TV is designed to complement them by moving local programming into the streaming era. It makes it easier than ever to watch hometown shows and discover local talent anytime, anywhere.

Decoded TV isn’t just an app. It’s a movement. A dedicated space to spotlight Grand Rapids talent and tell our stories on our terms.

Viewers will find stand up comedy specials filmed locally, Decoded Original movies like Streets Decoded, music video countdown shows, cooking shows with local chefs, law and community talk shows, sports channels streaming high school games and boxing, and faith based programming for local churches.

Decoded TV is also a fundraising tool for NXTGEN’s youth programs, aiming for 1,000 subscribers at $20 per month. That support will help fund mentoring, violence prevention, and creative arts programs for young people in the city.

Businesses can buy ad space and run commercials directly to local viewers. Content creators will have a professional home for their shows, specials, and podcasts and a clear path to get paid for their work.

Decoded TV is also working with the City of Grand Rapids to secure support and help expand this platform into a cornerstone of local media.

Decoded TV has already signed its first major content deal, Brandon DuBoise’s “Who Got Talent” TV Show, which will highlight performers from across the city. It is just the first of many planned Decoded TV Originals.

This is the next generation of local television in Grand Rapids streaming everywhere, anytime, on any device.
