About Marquiese McClendon: Turning Struggle into Sound, Mentorship, and Legacy

Born Marquiese Davis on December 10, 1993, Marquiese McClendon’s path to music is rooted in resilience, purpose, and transformation. Raised by a strong mother and guided by father figures who instilled discipline and principles, McClendon grew up surrounded by love, curiosity, and music. What started as playground rhymes at age ten evolved into a lifelong mission after he built a makeshift home studio and began creating his own sound.

His journey has not been without challenges. Labeled a gang leader in his teens and sentenced to a maximum-security prison at 15, McClendon used that time to reflect, earn his GED, and redefine his future. Upon release at 17, he redirected his energy into music, forming the pop group Loose Screws, which achieved national success and industry recognition.

A breakthrough collaboration with country artist Hosier led to the viral single “Country Boy Style” and a charting album that reached #17 on the country charts—solidifying McClendon’s signature lane: country music infused with hip hop, R&B, and pop.

Beyond music, McClendon co-founded Project Paradise, a mentorship program empowering youth through creative expression and life skills development. The initiative provides hands-on experience in music production, photography, videography, and trauma awareness—equipping the next generation with tools to transform adversity into purpose.

“Back Seat”: The Next Chapter

With “Back Seat,” McClendon reaffirms his mission to create music that is real, relatable, and resilient. The track merges down-to-earth country storytelling with the grit of hip hop, delivering an anthem for those navigating life’s challenges. The accompanying visual, directed by Indys Media Solution, captures the raw emotion and energy behind the record.

“Back Seat” is available now on all major streaming platforms, with the official video live on YouTube.
