For the first time in six years, Pittsburgh artist Jordan York is returning to the stage.
The two-time Pittsburgh Pop Artist of the Year winner will perform July 31 at Jergel’s Rhythm Grille alongside The Prince Project marking a long awaited live comeback for fans who have not seen him perform since his hiatus began.
Along with his return to the stage York is also back in the studio recording a new single set to release later this summer. The track will be his first new music in years and signals the start of a fresh chapter in his career.
His time away from performing was shaped by a mix of life changes and shifting priorities. The COVID-19 pandemic slowed the live music scene and during that period York stepped into fatherhood raising two children. At the same time he shifted focus toward fitness and bodybuilding where he found a new challenge outside of music. He has since competed in two bodybuilding shows and is now preparing for his third this fall.
Before stepping away York had built a strong presence in the Pittsburgh music scene earning multiple awards and developing a loyal following through his original music and high energy live performances across the region.
Now after six years off stage he returns with a more grounded but energized approach. The experiences away from music have shaped his perspective but the connection to performing and creating never left.
The July 31 show at Jergel’s is expected to be a standout summer event pairing York’s return with a performance from The Prince Project known for their tribute to Prince and his music.
With new music on the way and a return to live shows York’s comeback marks a new phase built on experience growth and a renewed focus on performing.
