When 36 Mudd received his first major rap check, he made a life-changing decision. He left his hometown of Cairo, Illinois and relocated to Chicago, a move that opened new opportunities while helping him grow his fanbase.

During a recent interview with a Chicago journalist, 36 Mudd revealed that his biggest motivation isn’t fame—it’s family. He credited his kids, his lady, his mother, his cousin Shala Coleman, his late brother Folkz36 (Terrell Johnson), his late uncle Johnny Lee Posey Jr. (Big Boss), and his music-making brothers PGM Dboy and DG Magician for keeping him focused.
What impressed the journalist most was his willingness to shine a light on others. Instead of making the interview all about himself, 36 Mudd encouraged listeners to support fellow Cairo artists including LoweDown, NCK17, Monie300, Kickadoe Loco, Minista, NeroBeatz, D.
