For Zacc P, music began as a way to process emotions he did not always know how to express. During high school and college, after losing his mother, creating music became therapeutic—a place where he could work through grief, identity, and everything happening beneath the surface. Years later, that personal outlet has evolved into something much bigger: a creative world built around self-belief, ambition, and refusing to make yourself smaller for the comfort of others.
That journey comes into focus on Too Humble, Zacc P’s first concept album, arriving October 9.
From Healing to Creating
Long before Too Humble took shape, music was simply a way for Zacc P to connect with himself. During a difficult period of his life, songwriting and production gave him somewhere to put emotions that were difficult to articulate.
His brother, Rich Solero, who is currently a DJ in Puerto Rico, also played an important role in encouraging his musical journey.
What began as a personal outlet gradually became a serious creative pursuit, leading Zacc P to develop himself as a songwriter, recording artist, producer and engineer.
When Humility Becomes Self-Doubt
The eight-track Too Humble explores a contradiction that sits at the heart of Zacc P’s personal journey: how being overlooked by others can eventually affect the way you see yourself.
For him, humility had sometimes meant downplaying his abilities, questioning his own vision and allowing other people’s perceptions to influence what he believed was possible.
“I’ve spent a lot of my life downplaying who I am, what I can do and even the vision I have for myself,” Zacc P explains. “At some point, I realized I had to double down on what I believed about myself instead of allowing other people’s perception of me to become my own.”
Rather than making an album solely about proving other people wrong, Zacc P turns the conversation inward.
Too Humble is about giving yourself permission to imagine a bigger future, even when those ambitions might sound unrealistic to someone else.
There Is No Such Thing as Dreaming Too Big
That philosophy is central to the album’s message.
“There’s no such thing as dreaming too big,” he says. “You can call it naive or unrealistic, but if you never give yourself the chance to pursue what you see in your mind, you’ll never know if it could have existed.”
The album’s progression reflects that idea. Tracks such as “Sink or Swim” and “Heart of a Champion” represent different stages of the journey, moving from pressure and uncertainty toward greater confidence and conviction.
The result is a project that is personal without being limited to Zacc P’s own story. Its underlying message is one listeners can apply to their own ambitions.
A Fusion of Sounds
Musically, Zacc P refuses to stay inside one genre.
He describes the music he creates as fusion, combining sounds and influences from different styles to create something that feels natural to him. Too Humble moves through hip-hop, R&B and melodic influences while maintaining a consistent focus on his songwriting and production.
His creative process is equally instinctive.
Typically, Zacc P begins with a beat or instrumental before freestyling over it. Once the foundation feels right, he goes back through the recording and refines sections where the lyrics may not communicate exactly what he wants the listener to understand.
That hands-on approach has become increasingly important to his music. As a writer, artist, producer and engineer, he is able to shape much of the project himself.
Inspired by Family and Influenced by Icons
Zacc P credits his brother Rich Solero as one of the biggest influences on his decision to pursue music.
His broader musical influences span several generations and styles, including Michael Jackson, Kanye West, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Brent Faiyaz and Ty Dolla $ign.
Among the artists he would most like to collaborate with is Drake, whose ability to move between different sounds and styles aligns with Zacc P’s own approach to music.
But rather than simply following the artists who inspired him, Zacc P is focused on combining those influences with his own experiences and creative instincts.
Two Careers, One Creative Vision
Music is not Zacc P’s only professional pursuit.
He is also a professional basketball player, making the sport an important part of his life alongside his music career.
The two worlds offer very different forms of expression. Basketball provides competition and discipline, while music gives him the freedom to explore his emotions and ideas.
That balance has also shaped his relationship with performing. When asked which artist he would want to open a show for, Zacc P does not have a particular preference. For him, the creative process is more important than simply being onstage.
From the Studio to European Festivals
Although performing is not his primary motivation, Zacc P is considering taking his music to larger audiences.
Following the release of Too Humble, he is considering festival appearances across Europe and the UK once his basketball season ends.
The album was intentionally constructed with larger venues in mind, giving the project an opportunity to move beyond headphones and streaming platforms into a live environment.
Finding Independence Through the Internet
Zacc P also sees the internet as a major force in the modern music industry.
For independent artists, online platforms have created opportunities to reach audiences without relying entirely on traditional gatekeepers. Artists can release music, build communities and develop visibility from almost anywhere.
At the same time, Zacc P believes the accessibility of the modern music business has contributed to an increasingly crowded marketplace, where attention can sometimes move faster than genuine artistic development.
For him, the answer is to remain focused on the craft.
The best advice he says he has received is simple: “Never stop creating.”
Creating the Soundtrack to Self-Belief
Ultimately, Too Humble is about much more than Zacc P’s own transformation.
It is about what happens when someone stops allowing outside perceptions to define their potential.
“I overcame that fear of not being enough,” he says. “Now I want to give people theme music to champion themselves.”
That idea captures the heart of the project.
Zacc P began making music as a way to understand his own emotions. With Too Humble, he is turning that personal journey into something others can carry with them—a reminder to trust their vision, challenge the limits they have placed on themselves and give their ambitions room to grow.
For Zacc P, the next chapter is about creating without shrinking.
And on October 9, Too Humble gives listeners the soundtrack to that chapter.
