Born and raised on the Southside of Chicago, rising Hip-Hop and R&B artist Dinero Montaro is making his mark in the music industry with a sound that reflects his life experiences, creativity, and entrepreneurial ambition. With the release of his debut album, TRAP-N- B IS DA LANE I CHOSE, and the development of his independent record label, T.N.H. Records (Top Notch Hustlers), Montaro is proving that it’s never too late to pursue your passion and take ownership of your future.
Growing up on Chicago’s Southside, Montaro experienced the realities of an environment where violence, adversity, and the daily struggle for survival were familiar. Those early experiences helped shape his perspective on life and ultimately influenced the stories he would later tell through his music. In June 2006, he made the decision to leave Chicago in search of greater opportunities, eventually relocating to Arizona. Although he left his hometown behind, the lessons he learned growing up continue to influence his music and business decisions today.
Interestingly, Montaro’s creative journey began long before he stepped into a recording studio. As a child, he discovered a passion for drawing, using art as a way to express himself. His appreciation for music developed through his exposure to Hip-Hop, R&B, gospel, and other genres that would eventually influence his signature sound. Despite his lifelong love for music, Montaro didn’t begin seriously pursuing a professional recording career until less than a year ago.
What started as a creative outlet quickly developed into something much bigger. When Montaro struggled to find producers who could capture the sound he envisioned, he decided to learn how to produce music himself. Rather than compromise his artistic direction, he began creating his own beats, writing his own lyrics, and developing records that reflected his personality and experiences. That independence became a defining part of his identity as an artist.
The result is a musical genre he calls TRAP N B, a combination of hard-hitting trap production, smooth R&B melodies, and authentic storytelling. His debut album, TRAP-N- B IS DA LANE I CHOSE, introduces listeners to an artist who isn’t interested in being confined to one sound or category. Instead, Montaro moves comfortably between street-inspired records, melodic R&B influences, and songs that explore relationships, loyalty, ambition, and personal experiences.
Among the project’s standout tracks is “FamDem,” a record that explores the true meaning of family and loyalty. Through the song, Montaro addresses the reality that the people who stand beside you during life’s most difficult moments aren’t always connected to you by blood. It’s a message rooted in experience and one that many listeners can relate to. On the other end of the spectrum, “7 Days” reveals Montaro’s charismatic and playful side, following the adventures of an international ladies’ man. Together, the records demonstrate his versatility and willingness to explore different subjects while maintaining his distinct musical identity.
But Montaro’s ambitions extend far beyond recording music. As the founder of T.N.H. Records, which stands for Top Notch Hustlers, he is focused on building an independent entertainment company that gives him creative control while establishing opportunities for other artists. His approach to business reflects the influence of entrepreneurs such as Master P, Nipsey Hussle, Young Dolph, and Kanye West, all of whom have demonstrated the importance of ownership and expanding beyond music.
For Montaro, establishing his own record label is about creating something sustainable. He understands that the music industry continues to evolve and believes artists must think beyond streaming numbers and traditional record deals. His long-term vision includes releasing additional projects, developing new talent, expanding into fashion, creating a television platform, and building a direct-to-consumer entertainment business. He wants T.N.H. Records to represent independence, opportunity, and the ability to turn creative ideas into successful businesses.
Montaro’s determination is perhaps best reflected in the animal he identifies with most: the honey badger. Known for its fearless nature and refusal to back down, the honey badger represents the mentality he brings to both his personal life and professional endeavors. He believes in standing his ground, overcoming obstacles, and remaining focused regardless of the challenges in front of him.
That mindset has carried him from the Southside of Chicago to Arizona and now into the competitive world of independent music. Although his professional recording career is still in its early stages, Montaro approaches every opportunity with the understanding that building a lasting career requires patience, consistency, and a willingness to invest in himself.
His story also challenges the idea that artists must begin their careers at a young age to achieve success. Montaro is entering the industry with life experience, a clear understanding of business, and the confidence to create music on his own terms. Rather than chasing trends or trying to fit an established formula, he is focused on introducing audiences to the sound and vision that make him different.
With TRAP-N- B IS DA LANE I CHOSE, Dinero Montaro is laying the foundation for what he hopes will become a much larger movement. His music reflects where he’s been, while his entrepreneurial goals reveal where he intends to go. As he continues developing T.N.H. Records and expanding his presence in the industry, Montaro remains committed to proving that independence, creativity, and determination can open doors that once seemed out of reach.
From Chicago’s Southside to becoming a recording artist, producer, and record label owner, Dinero Montaro is writing the next chapter of his story on his own terms. And with his signature TRAP N B sound leading the way, he’s making it clear that he didn’t simply find his lane.
He chose it.
